Presented by the Social Golf Association in partnership with The Fly Financial, the 3rd Annual Scramble Tournament features three ways to experience the day:
Choose Your Experience
Golf Outing — All Skill Levels
Designed for golfers of varying skill levels. Participants should be comfortable playing a nine-hole round, but the team scramble format keeps the experience fun and approachable.
Golf Clinic — Beginner Level
Designed for first-time, new, and developing golfers. No previous golf experience is required.
Networking Brunch — Golfers and Non-Golfers Welcome
Open to everyone. No golf participation or experience is required.
Taking place during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference Week, The Scramble Tournament brings together golfers, professionals, policymakers, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and supporters for a day centered on golf, culture, connection, and community.
Whether you are competing on the course, learning the game, or joining us for brunch, The Scramble Tournament offers a welcoming way to build meaningful relationships and celebrate Black excellence during one of the most impactful weeks in Washington, D.C.
Golf Outing
Golfers will compete in a fun, team-based nine-hole scramble designed for players of varying skill levels.
The tournament will feature a shotgun start, closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive competitions, special on-course experiences, sponsor activations, and awards and recognition.
Individual golfers who register without a foursome may be paired with other participants to form a team.
Golf Clinic Presented in Partnership with The Fly Financial
New and developing golfers are invited to participate in a beginner-friendly golf clinic presented in partnership with The Fly Financial.
Participants will receive practical instruction in a welcoming and supportive environment designed to help them build confidence, learn the fundamentals, and become more comfortable with the game.
No previous golf experience is required.
Networking Brunch
Following the tournament, golfers, clinic participants, and brunch guests will come together for food, an open bar, a DJ, awards, recognition, and meaningful networking.

7:00 AM — Tournament check-in and warm-up
8:15 AM — Welcome and ceremonial tee shot
8:30 AM — Nine-hole shotgun start
9:30 AM — Golf clinic presented in partnership with The Fly Financial
11:00 AM — Networking brunch
12:00 PM — Awards and recognition
1:00 PM — Event concludes
About Historic Langston Golf Course
Opened in 1939, Langston Golf Course holds an important place in the history of Black golf in America.
The course is named after John Mercer Langston, the first Black Virginian elected to Congress, and became a gathering place for Black golfers, athletes, leaders, and community members at a time when discrimination restricted access to many public golf courses.
Langston’s history is connected to trailblazers including Lee Elder, Joe Louis, and Muhammad Ali. Elder, the first Black golfer to compete in the Masters Tournament, also managed Langston and played an important role in its development and preservation.
Langston is also associated with the historic Royal Golf Club and Wake-Robin Golf Club, whose members advocated for equal access to Washington, D.C.’s public golf courses. Their efforts contributed to the desegregation of the city’s federally operated courses in 1941.
Today, Langston continues to welcome golfers from across the region and remains a powerful symbol of Black excellence, perseverance, and cultural heritage.
